From the News Center (Text by Zhang Yingfeng, School of Automotive Engineering; photo by Liugong)On July 23, 2021, Liugong’s 4th Global Technical Skills Contest of 2021 was held at Liugong-LVTC Global Customer Experience Center at Guantang Campus of LVTC. 

On July 17th to 19th, 11 personnels of Liugong overseas market service arrived much earlier than the preliminary. Under the guidance of the expert, He Haifeng, they conducted a three-day closed training of new machine handover. At the same time, more than 50 local service personnels from over 20 countries also received remote guidance under the same standard, discussing standardized videos, learning practical details, standardized actions and professional English, etc. All of them made full preparation for the Liugong’s 4th Global Technical Skills Contest of 2021.

On the day of the preliminary, Liang Yongjie, Business Director of Liugong International Business Center, Zheng Yaming, Party Committee Deputy Secretary of International Business Center , Xiang Dongsheng, Deputy General Manager of Asia Pacific Subsidiary , Huang Guangzhou, Training Director of After-sales Support and Customer Program, Wei Linhua, Director of International Exchanges Division of LVTC and Zhang Haifeng, Deputy Dean of the School of Automotive Engineering, and many other leaders attended the Contest. Feng Meiying and Chen Lichuang, teachers from the School of Automotive Engineering, were invited to serve as referees.

On behalf of LVTC, director Wei Linhua made a speech at the opening ceremony of the preliminary. She said that since the Global Customer Experience Center was built in 2017, the school-enterprise cooperation between Liugong and LVTC had become much closer. She hoped that both parties would continue to cooperate for a win-win result. She also expressed her wish for a successful Contest.

Due to the epidemic, there were only 11 contestants participating in the preliminary on site, including two LVTC graduates, namely: Yang Qinshou, 2017 graduate majoring in Engineering Machinery Application Technology, and Wei De, 2020 graduate majoring in Engineering Machinery Application Technology.

The Contest demands English speaking during the whole process, which is not easy. But the graduates who have been trained by the company are fluent in English, demonstrating the ability and demeanor of LVTC's students.

At the end of the preliminaries, Feng Meiying made a speech, thanking Liugong for its cultivation of graduates, and she said that students grew up very quickly under the guidance of the enterprise.

The results of this Contest will be compared with results of other foreign players. Finally, 18 players will be selected to compete in the final on August 20th.
